We would like to inform you that Carel is going to phase-out pCO3 programmable controller, all models.
Part numbers involved in the phase-out are the following:
Reason for termination pCO3 Programmable Controller was introduced to the market in 2005.
It has been Carel’s flagship controller for nearly eight years, reaching its top level of popularity during 2011 and 2012.
Newer generations of Programmable Controllers obsoleted pCO3: pCO5 in 2010 and finally pCO5+ in 2012. As a result of that, pCO3 started to drop.
Moreover, pCO3 is currently affected by End of Life of critical components,
including the main flash memory.
Replacement part numbers
pCO3 is completely replaced by pCO5+.
pCO5+ hardware and BIOS have been designed to be backwards compatible with pCO3. Connectors are located in the same physical position and pCO3 application can run on a pCO5+ without modifications to the source code.
KSA bulletins will be available within Jan 2018 to give detailed instructions on how to do the software porting.
The following table is showing how to transcode pCO3’s most common standard part numbers into pCO5+ part numbers:
For special and custom part numbers, please refer to your Carel sales representative.
Customisations All custom part numbers, including aesthetical changes (customer logos) to standard parts need to be renegotiated (where required) on pCO5+ product line within LOD (Last Order Date).
